"Tai" One On

Without fail, Modernism Week (MW) consistently goes by too fast. This year was no exception as I made the trek down to Palm Springs for a whirlwind design-filled getaway in the desert.

I gathered up plenty of inspiration for home projects and renovations this year by attending a few seminars, throwing back a few cocktails, and shopping in the Uptown Design District. I always make a point to stop by the Shag Store on N. Palm Canyon. SHAG's (Josh Agle) bold use of geometry, color and cocktail culture has always resonated with me, so visiting an entire gallery dedicated to this style is a must. The store recently underwent an expansion, which they happened to be celebrating with a cocktail reception during MW. I was lucky enough to attend, browse some truly mesmerizing original works, visit the new Tiki Den, and even chat with Josh a while.

Needless to say, I couldn't leave without picking up some beautiful collins glasses that were on display. The "Under the Sea" motif in black/gold leaf has an authentic vintage quality with the beauty of SHAG's stylized characters sprinkled about. You can pick yours up here, or better yet, visit the store!

With Modernism Week 2018 now passed, I'm putting one slightly blurred, but sturdy foot forward with a cocktail in-hand. This sweet tropical treat will have you ready to tackle anything. Whether that's a home renovation or just the living room rug is at your discretion. Looking forward to sharing a fun-filled year of projects ahead. Cheers, everyone!
